Organization Description

Our mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. By establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations based in settings of poverty, Partners In Health strives to achieve two overarching goals: to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair.

We draw on the resources of the world’s leading medical and academic institutions and on the lived experience of the world’s poorest and sickest communities. At its root, our mission is both medical and moral. It is based on solidarity, rather than charity alone.

When our patients are ill and have no access to care, our team of health professionals, scholars, and activists will do whatever it takes to make them well—just as we would do if a member of our own families or we ourselves were ill.

We care about protecting personal information and realize that certain individuals may misrepresent themselves as Partners In Health employees or recruiters by falsely advertising job opportunities and using our name, logo, and other corporate information. In some cases, scammers may make fraudulent employment offers to obtain your personally identifiable information, such as your home address, the name of your bank, account numbers, and other sensitive information. We strongly encourage you to be cautious when responding to requests for personal information by third parties and remember that when communicating with us about a job opportunity:

  • All open positions with PIH are posted on our employment site: https://www.pih.org/pages/employment
  • A PIH employee’s email address ends with @pih.org; we will never email you from free web-based email accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail
  • PIH will never ask for money or other compensation as a term of employment, or to pay for application processing fees or for employment testing
  • Job postings or employment applications that do not link to PIH’s website are not legitimate

If you are contacted by someone and you are concerned about their legitimacy as a PIH employee or recruiter, or if you have other questions related to a job posting you found online, please contact us at info@pih.org.
